Who are you?

Who are you? Why are you here? What is the purpose of you life?

Really, who are you? Who is God? Is He real? Is He the Creator of the Universe?

You must take time to wrestle with these questions. They are like pieces of the puzzle that make up your identity and world. Without them, you won’t have true peace, joy or purpose but instead a bunch of broken fragments of a life.

It’s easy during the busyness of the day to avoid these things but when you lay your head down to rest, that’s when the fragments start to bounce around in your head looking for a place to settle in.

I used to be scared to face those questions. I was scared to study more about God and the Bible because I was scared that I’d find holes that would prove it to be false. That we just appeared out of chaos and no one is in control and that I would seize to exist once I die.

However, I had to finally face those questions. The anxiety and depression got so bad I had to take a chance and start studying about God and The Bible. I had to wrestle with who I am and why I was here. I started praying “God help me to know You! Help me to understand what I’m reading in the Bible!”

So I began, and I was surprised at every turn to find there were no holes. The deeper I dug into historical documents, the Bible and prayer I found more answer that were all interwoven proving each to be true. I began to feel hope grow. I began to feel the presence of my Creator. And a strange love for an invisible God began to take root in my heart. It didn’t happen over night. It takes time. And over time, I began to see who I was in the eyes of The One who created me. I’m not an accident, my life isn’t just a floating atom that was created out of chaos. I was made on purpose for a purpose! I am unique. I am quirky. I am different. I am me!! Unlike anyone else on this earth! God created me with specific gifts and talents to accomplish His will for my life. “You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.” Psalm 139:13-15

And the amazing thing that comes from all of this, is when my body gives out on this earth, I don’t simply disappear, I will be given a heavenly body and live for eternity with my Daddy God and I will get to see my mom again!! “He will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same power with which he will bring everything under his control.” Philippians 3:21

But for now, my purpose is to share this news with everyone I can. To lead people to do their own digging into Gods Word and seek The One Who created them. To find their purpose in life and to find out who they really are. To accept that they have been uniquely made by The Creator of the Universe and not a haphazard cosmic accident.

Do yourself a favor, take time to study and dig into Gods Word and pray for guidance. Find out for yourself if this has validity or not. What do you have to lose? Yes, people may call me a fool for believing in an ancient book and an invisible God but I’m fine with that. I’ll gladly be a fool for Christ who has peace, joy, purpose and eternal life!
