Scripture Stuffing

Do you ever feel like damaged goods in a world where everyone on social media has it so much easier and definitely more glamorizing than you? Where all your “friends” on Facebook or IG are flawless...or so it seems behind the filters. On social media, in our journals and prayers we paste pretty, well meaning scriptures on top of a broken heart, a wrecked marriage, a depressed soul, anxious spirit...the list goes on. However, simply stuffing the hurt, pain and brokenness down with a perfectly paired scripture is not where God intended us to stop. He wants you to use that scripture to give you the courage and strength to open up and hand them over to Him. The strength to allow all of the sorrow and pain to spill out and hand them ALL over to Him! To not hang on to them any longer, where they will continue to bubble to the top over and over again. I encourage you today, yes, find that scripture that fits your situation and will give you the courage and strength to fall to the floor, face down, and pour out all your sorrows, brokenness and pain to God. Give it ALL to Him. Admit the lies you’ve believed about yourself, admit the overwhelming fears you can’t shake, tell Him how unfair it was for “so-and-so” to have done what they did to you. He’s a big God and He can handle it...every ugly, nasty bit of it. Ask Him to take “this” from you and heal your help you forgive those who have hurt you and release them...trusting God to deal with them. Then and only then can you can be free to live and enjoy this beautiful life He has given you! Let the combination of your tears, and God’s love, wash away all the pain and darkness that has been stuffed down deep for so long. Ask God to fill all your hollow places and be the One who satisfies ALL your hearts longings. Trust me...I know from experience He can and He will ❤️

“He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.” Psalm 147:3 “So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God...This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses... So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God.” Hebrews 4:14-15
