Lavish Love

Updated: Jun 9

I’ve seen this scripture many times but it’s amazing how there are times when something different suddenly stands out to you. This morning the part about Him “lavishing” His unfailing love on us, jumped out at me. I know He always loves me but it doesn’t always feel like He’s exactly “lavishing” His love on me.

It’s true we can’t do anything to make God love us any more or less than He already does. However, if I’m interpreting this correctly, it says He “lavishes” His unfailing love on “those who love Him and obey His commands”. So, when my life seems to be off track or it’s in a muddy pit, I should ask myself “Am I truly loving God and obeying His commands?”

If our child continually and blatantly disobeys us, do we “lavish” them with love and privileges? No Well, it’s the same with God. He will allow us to take our own paths, and if we choose to go against His ways, we are choosing to walk away from His path, hence we walk away from Him. Is there a part of your life that deep down you know is not part of Gods design for you? Is there something you are allowing into your life that is not proper for Gods Holy people? He calls His children to live a life set apart from the world, to be pure and undefiled. Is there something tainting your life?

If there is, we must turn back to God and His ways, in order to live our true “best life” and be showered by His unfailing and lavish love!
