Finding Happy

Find something each day that makes you smile! 🥰

:

For me it’s my Bible, a bunch of colorful pens, a new Bible Study and coffee! 💕❤️💕

:

Our souls desires and our earthly desires are always at war with each other. What we think will make us happy usually doesn’t really deliver and if it does it’s usually short lived.

:

Luckily for us, The One who created us knows this very well! Which is why He gives us instruction and guidance in His Word on how to find joy, purpose and contentment.

:

For example, in my singleness my desire was for my boyfriend, at the time, to finally commit and propose after a lengthy relationship. I prayed, pleaded and begged God to please make his love for me grow. I reminded God of His scripture that says “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4 I would cry out, God, I do find delight in You and Your Word, so why won’t you give me my hearts desires?

:

What I wasn’t taking into consideration was “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?” Jeremiah 17:9 and “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6

:

Lucky for us, God knows our true heart (souls) desires...the deeper desires that were woven within the fabrics of our being! He knows what is best for us, He knows what will satisfy our true souls desires and not just our heart/emotions and physical cravings. “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” Romans 8:28

:

We must drive to trust Him in our relationships...good and bad, trust Him in infertility, trust Him in our brokenness, career choices...in all things!

:

Although the relationship did end with a seriously broken heart I soon discovered that God had been trying to pry my hands open to let it go because He had something else planned for me...something that would satisfy my true souls desires. Keep in mind, that doesn’t mean a “relationship” will satisfy your souls desires but what God can do through your relationships/marriage can. Our marriage has caused us both to grow in our walk as Christians and grow closer to Him! Yes, there is human comfort found in marriage, but more than that it’s designed to grow us to be more like Christ everyday which leads us toward His purposes and our joy.

:

I encourage you to go to God to discover what will bring you true joy and satisfaction and stop listening to what the world tries to tell you will make you “happy”. The endless search for “happiness” as the world defines it will lead you down some seriously dark and lonely roads. Trust God, Seek God and deny yourself...that’s where lasting happiness is found....it’s called joy and peace!
