Timelessly Relevant

Why am I always so amazed at how relevant The Bible can be? I mean, God created us from out of nothing but dirt. He created the whole universe. He is beyond time and space. So how hard would it be for God to inspire individuals to record the revelations, He gave them, into in a book. A book to be used for ALL Time...to guide us, help us and encourage us from the first days of mankind to the last? The scripture I read this morning, below, is so very relevant to our current season. A season where we are allowing differences of opinion to divide us and bring out the worst in us...some serious ugliness and hatred. We are also allowing the media to paint an uglier picture of us Americans than what is true and pitting fellow Americans against each other. Look around...I honestly don’t see the division as drastically as those they highlight every night on the news. Either way...the change starts with me and you. Just remember, if we keep on fighting fellow Americans we only serve to destroy our very own country. United we stand strong against our true enemies but divided we will fall. “But if you are always biting and devouring one another, watch out! Beware of destroying one another.” Galatians 5:15 Let’s follow the wise advise of a Holy and Loving God who wants us to stop striving, worrying and bickering. “Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically. Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality. Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them. Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable. Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone. Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, “I will take revenge; I will pay them back,” says the Lord. Instead, “If your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals of shame on their heads.” Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.” Romans 12:9-14,17-21
