Genuine Christianity

A call to ALL Christians! Let’s commit to 30 days of treating those who oppose you & are even hostile toward you, with a Godly love. With patience and kindness. I mean isn’t that what God calls all of us Christians to do. Love God and Love others and to love our enemies. (Mark 12:30-31 & Matthew 5:43-48) A call to not only agree to disagree, but treat them better than a friend...winning their heart and respect. A call to pray for those whose understanding is darkened. Everything we know and understand comes from God, and we should have a genuine, Holy concern for those who do not know Him. In regards to political parties, right wing, left wing, women’s rights, human rights...whatever the current hot topic is, we, as Christians, are called to love...no matter what! So before lashing out at someone on social media this month, pray for them and pray for our country. Treat them better than a close friend. We can never lead someone to The Truth or to God when we are causing our opposers to be on the defense. Let’s give them nothing to rebel against but instead win them over with our sincere love for them and God. (1 Corinthians 9:19-23 & Romans 12:21) So who will join me in committing to this for 30 days? “Even though I am a free man with no master, I have become a slave to all people to bring many to Christ. When I was with the Jews, I lived like a Jew to bring the Jews to Christ. When I was with those who follow the Jewish law, I too lived under that law. Even though I am not subject to the law, I did this so I could bring to Christ those who are under the law. When I am with the Gentiles who do not follow the Jewish law, I too live apart from that law so I can bring them to Christ. But I do not ignore the law of God; I obey the law of Christ. When I am with those who are weak, I share their weakness, for I want to bring the weak to Christ. Yes, I try to find common ground with everyone, doing everything I can to save some. I do everything to spread the Good News and share in its blessings.” 1 Corinthians 9:19-23 NLT “And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31 NLT “You’re familiar with the old written law, ‘Love your friend,’ and its unwritten companion, ‘Hate your enemy.’ I’m challenging that. I’m telling you to love your enemies. Let them bring out the best in you, not the worst. When someone gives you a hard time, respond with the energies of prayer, for then you are working out of your true selves, your God-created selves. This is what God does. He gives his best—the sun to warm and the rain to nourish—to everyone, regardless: the good and bad, the nice and nasty. If all you do is love the lovable, do you expect a bonus? Anybody can do that. If you simply say hello to those who greet you, do you expect a medal? Any run-of-the-mill sinner does that. “In a word, what I’m saying is, Grow up. You’re kingdom subjects. Now live like it. Live out your God-created identity. Live generously and graciously toward others, the way God lives toward you.” Matthew 5:43-48 The Msg “Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.” Romans 12:21 NLT
