Entrapped by Swirling Darkness

What are you focusing on today? Whenever I am not carving out enough time to have quality time in God’s Word daily, it’s crazy how my mind begins to change for the worst. I begin to complain a lot, worry a lot, and curse under my breathe a lot. I become impatient, difficult and bitter. I focus on the negative and stop being grateful for ALL of the many, many blessings God has given to me. I find myself feeling like a failure and feeling guilty more and more. That is until I realize what the problem is...I am doing things apart from God. I am being filled with the World instead of The Spirit. When I realize this and run back to Him, It’s like He turns on a light in my soul and reminds me I don’t have to walk in the dark...I have The Light right there inside me! I sometimes forget how powerful God’s Word and His presence are. Every single day we are either being transformed by God’s Spirit or we are being conformed to the world’s pattern. “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 It’s so easy to forget that I am incapable of being all God calls me to be, without going to The Power source to equip me. Forgetting that I must stay connected to God continually to be anything good or have any hope in this tough and crazy world we live in. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23 It’s amazing what the power of The Holy Spirit can do to give you a fresh perspective and light in your soul! The world that seemed so hopeless and draining one moment can once again be beautiful and hopeful again! ❤️ So, I encourage you to spend some time alone talking to God through prayer or journaling and through reading His Word. If you’re new to reading scripture and don’t know where to start, just as I was early on, any one of these below is a good place to begin: 1 Corinthians 2 Corinthians Galatians Ephesians Philippians 1 John 2 John As crazy as it may sound, I promise, promise, promise that spending just 10 mins a day with God will bring so much peace that you will be surprised. No, the problems in your life and around the world won’t disappear but you will find that it’s possible to have peace and joy in the midst of it all. “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 “I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13 I am a living, walking example of what time with God can do. He has pulled me out of darkness, despair, depression and anxiety and gave me a new mind and heart that has so much peace and joy that it’s hardly comprehensible. And when you experience His peace and joy, you will find nothing compares to it!! NOTHING at all!! But also remember, it only comes through remaining close to him and when you get too far away be sure to run back to Him as soon and as often as you can. He will be there waiting with patient, loving and open arms! 😊 Now, I think I will go give my husband a big hug and kiss and remind him that I’m blessed God gave him to me and apologize for being so grumpy lately 😘❤️
