Personal Genie?

How often do we behave like God was created for us, to make us happy and make our dreams come true, like he was our own personal genie? Or we ask God “why do You allow bad things to happen?” That’s like asking God why He lets us make our own choices and decisions? We are all allowed to make our own decisions freely, even if those decisions hurt other people. Unfortunately, every time we sin or disobey God it always hurts others in addition to ourselves. God created us for His purpose! We may not like that, but we can’t change it. We can fool ourselves into thinking “it’s all about me and my happiness” but that eventually catches up with us. God does want us to be happy but our character and His greater plans come first. 1 Corinthians 2:9 “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” 

Proverbs 3:5 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.” We can make it easier on ourselves by surrendering to Him and living according to His Will. I try to remind myself that I’m simply and amazingly blessed just by God choosing to bring me into existence and be part of this great plan! 🙂

Colossians 1:15-17 “Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see—such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together.” Psalm 115:3 "Our God is in the heavens, and he does as he wishes."
