Not Good Enough?

If you’re waiting until you get your life on the right track and get your behavior or thought life right before pursuing God or going to church, you have gotten things backwards. It’s God who gives you the strength and power to transform you and your desires to even be capable of living a Christian (Christlike) life. The church is not a country club for the perfect and Holy, it is a hospital for the sick, hurting and broken. Romans 5:8 says that “…God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” Did you catch the key words “while we were still sinners”? No one on this earth, other than Jesus Christ, was or is Holy enough or Righteous enough to enter in the the presence of God or enter heaven without the blood of Christ. Gods Word says in Isaiah 64:6 that “We are all infected and impure with sin. When we display our righteous deeds, they are nothing but filthy rags.” We are only made Holy and Righteous by the blood of Christ which was shed on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins. No one can accomplish this by their own power, obedience or actions apart from the Holy Spirit living inside of them. In Galatians 6:14 Paul reminds us of this “As for me, may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of that cross, my interest in this world has been crucified, and the world’s interest in me has also died.” So you see, the church is not for the perfect and Holy, it is for the sinful who are hurting and broken. Come see for yourself, seek God, surrender to God, believe in the free gift of Salvation Christ offers through His death on the cross, be baptized and raised to a new life…a new life filled with Gods own Spirit who will transform you from the inside out. Find true peace, find the fulfillment of all of your longings and find lasting joy in your life and be part of a new family…the family of God! Who, by the way, are not perfect but who are striving to please God as best as they know how. Something important to keep in mind, don’t judge God or His church because of the actions of mere humans, we too often fail miserably at loving others as we should but Gods love, never fails!!
